After more than 10 years of existence on this astral plane, Starling Electric is proud to announce their union with Bar/None Records. Joining artists such as Yo La Tengo, Alex Chilton, Of Montreal, Architecture In Helsinki, Evan Dando, They Might Be Giants, Puffy Amiyumi, Freedy Johnston, Mosquitos, Hotel Lights, and Petra Haden, Starling Electric is surely poised for SUPER-STARDOM, followed by KIND-OF-STARDOM, followed by DANCING WITH THE STARS, followed by an inevitable descent into (macho) madness.
Bar/None Records has been offering fine independent music for over 20 years - which makes us wonder why they have ANY hope whatsoever for us. Seriously though. Your favorite record and mine, Clouded Staircase, will be officially re-released (re-RE-released?) on the Bar/None label in late July this year. If you are reading this, your help and support has made this possible. Well, that and years worth of slogging it out in bad venues, a ridiculous amount of coincidence, divine intervention, and something to do with Bob Pollard. Oh, and good songwriting. And, you know, actual SONGS.
Watch this space for more UPDATES! and developments in the world of Starling Electric, Major Label Chart-Toppers. And visit www. bar-none. com, especially after they update the site and include us in their roster. And a sincere thanks for your efforts to buy our record, come to see us play, spread the gospel, and make us feel like our hard work actually pays off.
INTERESTING FACT: Label-mates Oppenheimer have a song called "Saturday Looks Bad To Me". I'm just sayin', is all.
